Espanola— The Ontario government is investing $25,000 in Espanola.

The Town of Espanola is receiving an Inclusive Community Grant to develop an Age-Friendly Community Action Plan.

“This Age-Friendly Action Plan helps support people with disabilities and seniors in the Town of Espanola” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Together we are making sure Espanola is accessible for people of all abilities”.

The Town of Espanola’s Age-Friendly Community Action Plan will help to identify changes and upgrades that can be made to build a more accessible community.

“Our government understands the importance of ensuring seniors and people living with disabilities have access to the supports and resources they need, close to home,” said Greg Rickford, Minister of Northern Development. “This funding demonstrates our commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive Ontario.”

“Espanola is a true gem of Northeastern Ontario, providing the ideal rural lifestyle while featuring the full range of services that seniors and young families rely on. We are excited to be creating a plan that will assist us in refining our approach to making Espanola an ideal retirement destination. We are grateful to the Ontario Government for their support,” said Douglas Gervais, Mayor of Espanola.
