Northern Credit Union Serves up Donation to Pickle Ball

Pickle Ball fever has hit Espanola!  The sport has earned the title of the fastest growing in North America and is popular amongst Canadian Snowbirds.

Mike Brady & George Guerette are volunteer champions of Espanola Pickle Ball.  Together, they have been committed to growing the game as an all-season, accessible option for all ages with a robust participation of mature adults.  In just a year they have built a roster of over 40 players.  To meet the growing demand for the sport the two volunteers appealed to the Northern Credit Union for a donation to purchase 2 additional portable pickle ball nets and Northern Credit Union came through with the serve,

"In an effort to promote the growth of Pickle Ball, Northern Credit Union is proud to purchase two portable nets.  This is a coordinated effort between the Town of Espanola and NCU.  Mike and George have laid a solid foundation and NCU sees the potential in health and fitness for a more vibrant community."

"The donation enables pickle ball enthusiasts to play both at the outdoor courts at the Golf Course and indoors at the Recreation Complex while the ice is out", says volunteer, Mike Brady, "the support we've gotten from both the Town of Espanola and now from Northern Credit Union will contribute to growing the sport even further.  It's an easy game to learn and we have plenty of people happy to offer free lessons & welcome new players to the courts."
