Community to Weigh In on Playgrounds

The volunteer led Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee for the Town of Espanola is reaching out to the community with a survey to poll the usage and values regarding the six community playgrounds.

The survey is in response to a recommendation of the 2017 Recreation Master Plan to develop a playground replacement strategy.  The Recreation Master plan recommends that any play structure that has reached 14-years of age should be phased out for replacement.  All playgrounds in Espanola are currently 10–12 years passed the recommended life cycle.

“Input from the survey will allow the Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee to better represent community values when making recommendations to Council on our community playgrounds,” says Joel Yusko, Manager of Leisure Services.

The survey will be available on Survey Monkey through a link posted on the Town’s Facebook Page and website (survey available here).  Copies will be available at the Town office, Library and Recreation Complex.  Survey information will be received until July 31st.
