Street Banner Contest Winners

Espanola, Ontario
November 21, 2018

"Capture our Community" Street Banner contest was launched earlier this year; inviting those who work, live, attend school or own property in Espanola to submit street banner designs to replace the INVEST Local banners for the downtown and Highway 6 corridor.  The Town received submissions from local photographers and artists showcasing Espanola’s spirit, beauty, culture and heritage.

The banner designs which met the program criteria were voted on by a total of 392 people at the Annual Pumpkin Festival.  The winners of the banner contest are Merle Canjar (water colour), Kelli Hill (acrylic & photography) and Shylene Lingenfelter (photography).

"The street banner contest is a great way to engage our community and show off the local talent of residents," says Mayor Piche.  "We thank all the artists and photographers for their interest in the program."

The winning designs will be produced locally at OJ Graphix and will be hung this coming spring.

The Town plans to host a second contest for winter themed submissions.  Details coming soon!
