Localized Flooding Possible

Over the next 7-10 days record amounts of water flow are expected resulting in melting snow from areas north of us in the Spanish and Vermillion watersheds.  As a result of this water there is a potential for some localized flooding, areas at high risk where road closures are possible include:

  • Penage Lake Road at Black/Darkie Creek
  • Highway 6 at McCulloch Drive
  • Mead Boulevard at Black Creek

Town Welcomes New Deputy Fire Chief

The Town of Espanola has appointed a new Deputy Fire Chief!

Henry Girard, a 31 year veteran with the Espanola Fire Department, has been appointed as the Deputy Fire Chief for the Town of Espanola.

Espanola Police Receive Grant

Espanola Police Receives $30,000 Grant

The Espanola municipal police are the recipients of a funding grant in accordance with Ontario Regulation 498/06 of the Civil Remedies Act, 2001. The initial application was made in 2011 and in December 2012 the service was notified that its application had been accepted. The grant funds are provided on a one time basis to purchase specific items not allotted for in the service‚Äôs regular annual budget.  These funds have been made possible by a grant from the Attorney General of Ontario from funds forfeited to the Crown under the Civil Remedies Act.  The following is the acknowledgement statement from the Attorney General.
