NOJHL Hockey is Good Business

March 8, 2013

NOJHL HOCKEY IS GOOD BUSINESS

"Securing an NOJHL Junior A hockey franchise for the 2013/14 season is an immediate and obtainable business opportunity" says Jill Beer, Chair of the Economic Development Committee and Deputy Mayor.  "We need to embrace this as an economic opportunity; 24 additional haircuts a month, think of the impact 24 hockey players will have on grocery sales alone!  The impact to restaurants, gas stations and hotels is significant – we need to grow our community one business at a time and this is a great way to start."

Community Goal: NOJHL Team

February 1, 2013

Espanola Sets Goal to Score NOJHL Team

The goal has been set for Espanola to sell 400 season ticket passes to score an NOJHL team in Espanola!  "An NOJHL franchise hockey team in Espanola would be a significant win for both the community and hockey fans alike" says Deputy Mayor Jill Beer, Chair of Espanola’s Community Economic Development Committee.  "It's Junior 'A' hockey, but it's also a new business moving to our town, and bringing with it, huge spin offs for our restaurants, hotels, businesses and Complex. Moving an NOJHL hockey team here is a huge investment for the franchise Governor's & the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League – they both need to know they have the community backing to bring an NOJHL Hockey Team to Espanola to begin play as early as next season."
