The Town of Espanola Wall of Fame will soon welcome its newest batch of inductees.

Mayor Lehoux is pleased to announce that the 1962-63 Espanola Eagles, Clifton Carbin, Caroline Ehrhardt and Natalie Waples have been unanimously approved by Council and the Wall of Fame Committee for induction into the Town of Espanola Wall of Fame.  They will be honoured for their contributions and achievements in sports and culture on a provincial, national and international level.

The Town of Espanola’s Wall of Fame Committee has been re-established. This volunteer committee will recognize honour and preserve the name and deeds of Espanolians for outstanding provincial, national or international achievements in the areas of sports, culture or recreation.

Espanola Mayor and Council congratulate the municipality of Sables Spanish River and the volunteer organizers of the 37th Annual Friendly Massey Marathon.  The 10km run, half marathon and marathon attracted over 200 runners to our region and served as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Espanola was well represented by dozens of active warriors who were prepared to climb hills, scale walls and slop through mud at the annual Warrior Dash held in Horseshoe Valley this past weekend.

Espanola Scores NOJHL Team

Espanola Town Council has sealed an agreement with Tim Clayden, a Governor in the NOJHL and franchise owner of the new NOJHL team.  The new Espanola team will launch their community presence by hosting a youth hockey school in Espanola in August, followed by tryouts and training camp for the 2013-2014 season.

Espanola Strategic Plan 2013: A safe, healthy community in which to live, work and thrive.

On May 28, 2013, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Espanola formally adopted the Strategic Plan 2013.

Based upon a community consultation process with residents, businesses, community and regional partners, the Strategic Plan consists of a number of initiatives or action items grouped into four priorities; environmental, economic and social sustainability and excellence in governance.  Action in these four areas will enable the Town to realize its vision for the future.
