Cycling in Espanola

Espanola is creating the Town's first cycling plan!  The plan aims to make cycling easier, safer and more accessible to all Espanola residents, and we're kicking the plan off with a public bike tour!

Tell us what you like about riding in town and what you would like to see changed, and explore some of the possibilities with the project team working on the Active Espanola Cycling Plan.

Bike Tour June 1

Bring your bike to Espanola Town Offices (100 Tudhope) on Friday June 1 at either 1pm or 6pm for a guided 90-minute, family-friendly ride around Espanola.

Light refreshments will be provided and space is limited, so register at

Cycling Survey

Oraclepoll will launch a household cycle plan telephone survey in June to coincide with bike month.

Provide your input at the bike tour and/or in our online survey at for a chance to win a prize.

Community Consultation Session June 27th

On June 27th, 2018 from 6-8 pm, come to the Espanola Recreation Complex for the first community consultation session for the Active Espanola Cycling Plan.

Hear about the approach being taken to produce a community-supported, made in Espanola cycling plan and provide your feedback on important aspects of the plan.

Public Workshop June 27

The Town of Espanola is developing Espanola’s first Cycling Plan. As part of the consultation for the cycling plan we are requesting your presence at the first stakeholder consultation workshop, to be held on June 27th, 2018 from 10:00am to 2:30pm at the Espanola Recreation Complex. (Refreshments and lunch will be provided.)

At the stakeholder workshop, you will:

  • Gain an understanding of the “5 Es” of the Bicycle Friendly Communities Program and the approach being taken by the consultant team to develop a community-oriented cycling plan for Espanola
  • Explore Espanola’s existing cycling assets across the 5 Es
  • Learn about what communities similar to Espanola have done to make themselves better places for people on bikes
  • Begin to create a realistic plan to make Espanola a great place to ride a bike in the short and medium term
  • Build new connections with other stakeholders to ensure that the resulting cycling plan becomes a reality

As a valued stakeholder, your attendance at the Workshop is important to the creation of a realistic, ambitious work plan for our community.

We hope to see you at the Workshop on June 27th!

Lunch will be provided to participants.
