A brown water disruption has been reported in various locations throughout Espanola.  We believe it is caused by some ice formation in the temporary trunk water main during last night’s very cold temperatures.  Water testing has been performed at multiple locations and the findings indicate that the water is safe for consumption.  Most of the locations that have reported dirty water have found that it cleared up after running their cold water tap for 15-30 minutes.

We are requesting anyone experiencing brown water to run a cold water tap continuously with the hope that it will subside.  We recommend that you refrain from using hot water or doing laundry during the disruption.  If the water doesn’t clear within an hour or so, please call the Public Works office at (705)869-1751.  We thank you for your patience and understanding.
