Professional Pumpkin Carver Booked for Festival

Professional Pumpkin Carver Melissa Lapierre is booked for the 2017 Pumpkin Festival thanks to the sponsorship of the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). 

"OCWA is pleased to assist in celebrating community & creativity at this year’s festival," says Keith Stringer Senior Operations Manager. 

"We are excited to have OCWA on board as a festival partner and sponsor," says Mayor Piche, "their contribution adds even more program value to the weekend roster of events."

Lapierre will be on site carving giant pumpkins at the Espanola Regional  Recreation Complex on Saturday October 21st from 9am until 2pm.

Lapierre shares this year’s carving stage with the professional wood carving headliners Paul & Jacob Frenette of the HGTV show "Carver Kings".

Crossing Guard Program

Prior to the new school year a review of the School Crossing Guard Program was conducted through the Service Delivery and Operational Reviews. The roll of the guard is to help elementary school aged children cross roadways by creating a necessary gap in traffic to provide for a safe passage.
