Electronic Waste

Earthcare Waste and Recycling has confirmed that Espanola residents are able to drop off their electrical and electronic waste (aka e-waste) at 600 Barber Street (the former Bell telephone building), across from the Calvary Baptist Church. 

The operator indicated that e-waste items can be dropped off and left outside the building at any time.  If residents have multiple e-waste items, please contact the business to make arrangements prior to drop-off at 869-4295. 

Earthcare Waste and Recycling is currently storing the e-waste materials at the Barber Street location. They are awaiting inspection from OES (Ontario Electronic Stewardship) before proceeding with shipping.

What electrical and electronic equipment is accepted?
The provincial e-waste recycling program is being implemented in phases.

The first two phases include:
- Computers - desktop and laptop
- Computer peripherals such as mice, keyboards, disk drives
- Monitors
- Printer devices (desktop)
- Fax machines
- Televisions
- Copiers
- Scanners
- Telephones
- Cameras
- Audio-visual equipment
